Dialogues 2004

In 2004 Bill Porteous moved his studio to 2960A Jutland Road, adjacent to D’Ambrosio Architecture + Urbanism (DAU). He was also commissioned to create a painting spanning the length of the architects’ office. The structure and the central placement of the canvas panels within it provided Porteous with the perfect opportunity to experiment with shape, colour, and gesture. The intention was to provide a sort of ambient centrepiece – a visual constant in the space, but in a way that would be unobtrusive. It would become a visual presence that could reveal itself and be discovered over time.
