ADJOIN 2019-2022
Client : Aragon ( Esquimalt TC ) Properties Ltd. Vancouver BC Architect: D’Ambrosio Architecture + Urbanism
My initial commission ( Adjoin ) consisted of a sculptural intervention on the facade of a mixed use
building designed by D’Ambrosio Architecture + Urbanism, using Glulam beams. I made a proposal to use the existing materials which consisted of a dark warm brown brick. The result is Adjoin, a brick pattern that makes use of the inherent qualities of the bricks and the opportunities provided by creating complementary patterns animated by symmetry.

Oculus 2008-2010

The final commissioned sculpture Oculus, was inspired by the plazas design and purpose as a gathering place for the community. I was able to locate the sculpture within the established plinth which allowed the shape of the oculus to frame the heritage tree that was an existing landmark while engaging the prominent public sidewalk access to the plaza.
